Concept
Installed in a private residence overlooking Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong.
Within the refined interior, the delicate patterns of Kumiko serve as an elegant accent, creating a calm and sophisticated atmosphere.
A new expression of Kumiko, enjoyed alongside the dynamic cityscape.
By filtering light and framing the surrounding views, it brings a quiet presence and subtle beauty to the space.

For generations, the origami crane has been cherished in Japan as a symbol of peace, longevity, and heartfelt wishes.
Set within a traditional Kumiko door panel, “Origami Crane” engages in a subtle dialogue with the surrounding landscape, lending the space a delicate expression and quiet presence.
Carrying the spirit embodied in the crane, the piece brings serenity and a sense of well-being to everyday living, quietly accompanying the moments shared with family.

コンセプト
個人邸の欄間に、帯柄タイプの組子を採用しました。
麻の葉、胡麻、桜。三つの文様を帯のように連ね、ヒノキ、ブラックチェリー、ウォルナットのそれぞれ異なる色合いを生かして構成しています。
文様と木の表情が重なり合い、光を通すたびに繊細な陰影が生まれます。
伝統の吉祥文様を、現代の住空間に静かになじむ欄間として仕上げました。

Kumiko: Art Kumiko (Obi-type)
Concept
An Obi-type kumiko composition was created for the ranma of a private residence.
Asanoha, Goma, and Sakura motifs are arranged in flowing bands,
bringing together the distinct tones of hinoki, black cherry, and walnut.
The interplay of pattern and natural wood creates delicate layers of light and shadow as light passes through.
Traditional auspicious motifs are reinterpreted as a refined architectural detail that blends quietly into a contemporary residential interior.
