Project: Japanese Restaurant—”SUSHI-ENGETSU・OMAKASE“
Pattern: Auspicious(Masu-awase, Senbonkōshi)
Concept
The Kumiko panels of Masu-awase and Senbon-kōshi that line the walls take on a quiet sense of depth through the gentle play of light and shadow, allowing a refined “orderly beauty” drawn from Japanese architecture to breathe softly throughout the space.
The Masu-awase pattern, composed of overlapping geometric forms, carries auspicious meaning while subtly softening the restaurant’s dignified atmosphere. Its delicate rhythmic structure adds a graceful sense of space and a calm, composed stillness to the moments spent before the chef’s craft.
