Project: Japanese Restaurant | Crab Specialty – KANIDŌ Kumiko Patterns: Auspicious (Senbonkoshi, Asanoha, Kawari-Asanoha, Yae-Zakura), and Abstract (Kogetsu no Shirabe)
Concept
Framed by deep crimson walls and the dignified presence of premium timbers, KANIDŌ presents a dining environment shaped by richness and calm. Softening this dramatic backdrop is the Kumiko artwork “Kogetsu no Shirabe”, integrated into the partitions and seating areas.
Inspired by the moon reflected on a still lake and the gentle ripple of water, its intricate patterns introduce a delicate sense of movement and a quiet, rhythmic glow. The piece lightens the weight of solid wood and subtly elevates the warmth of the interior palette.
The bold red crab sculpture, traditional carved ranma, and the expressive grains of the timber elements— “Kogetsu no Shirabe” receives all these dynamic features and brings them into a harmonious, effortless balance.
