Project: Japanese Restaurant | Crab Specialty – OKADAYA Kumiko Patterns: Auspicious (Rindō, Asanoha, Kawari-Asanoha), and Abstract (Seika)
Concept
Deep shadows reminiscent of a tranquil sea, and a gentle shimmer like stars wavering behind a veil of night— the atmosphere of OKADAYA is quietly infused with both tradition and the subtle presence of nature.
The welcoming façade features kumiko patterns such as rindō, asanoha, and kawari-asanoha— auspicious motifs symbolizing noble strength, growth, and harmony— their meanings softly radiating throughout the space.
Interwoven across these is the abstract motif “Seika” (Star Haze). It evokes the muted glow of starlight diffused through thin clouds, creating a serene interplay of light and shadow that reflects both the calm of the sea and the refined beauty that defines this crab-specialty restaurant.
